How to Choose a Car?

• Compare rates of different car rental agencies and also compare the weekly to the daily rates. Sometimes the difference can add up to a substantial amount!
• Fill up your gas tank, before you return the car and you will save a lot of money because car rental agencies charge a hefty sum for refilling it.
• Check how much it will cost to getting the car from the airport or from the city. It is usually a lot cheaper to get it in the city.
• Take your confirmation documents with you when you book a car online to use as proof. Often, the company will try to charge you more, and by showing them this slip, you prevent it from happening.
• Most car rental agencies allow a period of grace when it comes to returning the car. When checking out rates online, examine different checkout times. Sometimes you can return a car a little later than the hour and you won't be charged for it!
• If you can, rent a car fro more than 8 days. This will make the rates a lot cheaper!
• If you can manage it, rent a car through Saturday night. Just like airlines, this will reduce your fare.
• Keep in mind that sometimes the larger cars are even cheaper than the economy ones because the companies run out of the small ones and are left only with the big cars.
• If you want even lower rates and have the time and energy to do it, fax car rental companies and ask for a rate. Include the dates, car size and any other relevant requests and sometimes you might receive rates even lower than those on the internet!
